(Feb)about Dr. Ian Stevenson, and acknowledging his work here seems appropriate:

"A tall, stooping man who usually dressed in grey flannels and a blazer, Stevenson was the embodiment of academic rectitude. Diffident and quietly spoken, he grew accustomed to most of his academic peers finding his interest in reincarnation odd — "and that's putting it mildly".

The fact that his work received little or no recognition from the scientific community seemed only to reinforce his belief in its inherent conservatism: "It's been said that there's nothing so troublesome as a new idea, and I think that's particularly true in science." His greatest frustration, he maintained, was not that people dismissed his theories, but that so few bothered even to read the evidence he had so painstakingly assembled.

Stevenson regarded the prospect of his own passing with equanimity, maintaining that he was "apprehensive" but not scared of death. "I have a feeling I'm going to be confronted with memories, some of which I won't like, and would like to expunge. But I do wonder, what parents could possibly want me as a baby?"

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2007/02/12/db1201.xmlM.E.Martinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01993165348236952072noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20039900.post-31084350244817492132007-04-26T13:16:00.000-05:002007-04-26T13:16:00.000-05:00I am glad you posted this on your blog, Kathy. A friend of mine used this phrase recently, "a poor use of flesh." I laughed because it sums up to me the tragedies we create and live before we open our mind to the infinity of our mind's thinking potential, our love as the energy of life, and honoring this amazing physical human design of our body. I'm grateful to feel more compassion than anger, more love than disdain, to know we are so much more.

This bit from your post is something I want to emphasize, because I know how you have helped me, and many more:
"I have been talking about hidden memories for years as I teach and write Spiritual Philosophy. Every time that our society experiences another school shooting or some other obvious hidden memory experience, I always wish that I could have had some counseling with these individuals."

I wish you could have had some counseling with these individuals too.

I posted a notice about Kathy's next seminar on Hidden Memories on the Triangle Philosophy meetup message board, and got some responses. I hope some other students will read and respond. Here's the link.
http://philosophy.meetup.com/80/messages/boards/M.E.Martinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01993165348236952072noreply@blogger.com
